 SPACE Theater Update
Since acquiring the beautiful mission-style building that was formerly St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church on February 5, 1999, our Building Committee has spent considerable time with reports, plans, drafts, designs and budgets. We are well guided by architect Bill McCandless, who has a wealth of experience with theater design and historical renovation.
We have raised 3/4 of the $4 million capital campaign for our new theater. We have completed Phase I, seismic retrofitting, and Phase II, the construction of the lobby and bathrooms. We plan to begin Phase 3, construction of the stage, rehearsal rooms and backstage dressing rooms and restrooms in Spring 2008. Being able to show potential major funders that our students' parents support this project is important to our success.

SPACE's Capital Campaign Committee
The Capital Campaign Committee consists of a group of motivated people with the common interest of turning the vision of the SPACE Theater into reality. They see the theater as an integral asset to our community, providing our children not only with a place to nurture their creative talents, but also a place to bring other local and national artists to perform for Ukiah audiences.
The Committee held a community event in October of 2002 with the purpose of sharing the vision with prominent members of the Ukiah community. They are actively working on attracting foundation grants or philanthropic donations to help us raise the main portion of the $1.4 million needed to complete the project.
The Capital Campaign Committee welcomes people who would like to join them in finding funding sources.
