Nikola Clay
Nikola Clay, musician, dancer/choreographer, filmmaker and activist using the arts as a means to build bridges to connect cultures. Her fascination with non-Western music was ignited as a music performance major at UCSD and has continued as a lifelong pursuit. She has worked with children and adults for over three decades primarily focused on World Music and Dance. In the interest of cultural preservation she and her teacher Abdoulaye Camara of Guinea West Africa produced two educational films “West African Dance, Volumes 1 & 2” which serve as an introduction to the rich cultural roots and rhythms of Jazz, Hip Hop and many other genres.
