Irma Lopez
Irma Lopez (Musician) came to California from Mexico in 1991 and is always looking for opportunities to sing and share with everyone her passion for music. An accomplished guitarist and singer, Lopez was a master teacher in NuestroSPACE and created the Spanish Children’s Choir which performed for two years in SPACE recitals and at school and community events. Lopez was the first person to record “Noche de Estrellas,” a song written for her which provided the title for the Spanish language variety shows SPACE produced from 2002-2011. She has been a featured musician in Noche de Estrellas, Sin Palabras, and Teatro en Llantas. Lopez has won awards in two music festivals around California, sang with mariachis and now performs as a solo artist. She is employed as a recruiter for the Butte County Office of Education Migrant Education Program. Ms. Lopez will be a musician for the ¡Viva la Cultura Más! Project. New position funded by grant funds.
