Carlos Jacinto

Carlos Jacinto (SPACE Outreach Coordinator since 2016) is a long time Ukiah resident, community builder, deejay, multi-media artist, and full time Mendocino County Social Worker who also has strong ties to the Catholic Church. In 2013, he created and directed an all-Spanish language production, Sin Palabras (Without Words), at SPACE. In 2015, he co-directed SPACE’s Dream Act Performance Project, Papeles!, an immersive theater experience based on immigrants’ stories of their paths to documentation. In 2017, he was the Outreach Coordinator for Teatro en Llantas (Theater on Wheels). Combined, these three projects involved approximately 150 community members as cast and crew. In 2018, Carlos was the Artistic Director for El Grito/Noche de Estrella, an outdoor festival and Spanish language talent show celebrating Mexican Independence Day. In March 2019, he presented Gritos de Mi Pueblo, an original multi-media play. The 2018-19 productions were funded by CAC-LI grant funds. Mr. Jacinto is the director of Jacinto Support Services (JSS). He provides bilingual and bi-cultural facilitation support services for government and nonprofit agencies which include court, visitation and supervised monitoring, parenting class facilitation, general interpretation, and translation of documents and meetings. Mr. Jacinto will be Artistic Director and multi media artist for ¡Viva la Cultura Más! Project, funded by grant funds.
